Terms of Service

The rules for using Acle as a customer, a professional or a business — including fees, commission, disputes and liability.

1. Acle is a marketplace, not an employer

Acle is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent, self-employed service professionals (individuals and registered businesses). Professionals are not employees, agents, partners or contractors of Acle. They control their own pricing, schedule, tools, methods and workmanship.

Acle facilitates three things only: discovery and booking, protected payment handling through a licensed payment provider, and a dispute resolution process. Acle does not supervise, direct or perform any service, and does not guarantee the quality, timeliness, legality or outcome of any service booked through the platform.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Customer, Professional and Admin accounts have different permissions, and you may only use the permissions granted to your account.

A "Verified" badge is granted only after Acle reviews a professional's submitted identification. Verification is a documentation check — it is not a warranty of skill, insurance cover or service quality.

3. Fees

Acle has no subscriptions or memberships. Creating an account, browsing, booking and holding an Acle Card are free for customers and professionals. Acle earns only the 10% platform commission on paid bookings, plus any separately disclosed one-time verification fee.

4. Bookings, payments and the 10% platform commission

Payment for a booking is made through Acle's payment partner and held until the service is confirmed complete. On each completed booking, Acle retains a platform commission of 10% of the gross booking amount, and the remaining 90% is released to the professional's verified payout account.

Payouts require verified bank details. Payment provider fees, bank delays and failed transfers caused by incorrect account details are outside Acle's control. A payout is blocked while a dispute on that booking is open.

5. Affiliate programme

The Acle affiliate programme is not currently active. No referral rewards, commissions or wallet credits are offered or earned at this time. If Acle launches an affiliate programme in future, its reward terms will be published here before it starts, and only rewards stated in those published terms will apply.

  • Self-referral is prohibited, as is referring accounts you control, duplicate accounts, or accounts created with false details.
  • Acle may withhold, reverse or cancel any referral credit where a referral is fraudulent, abusive or otherwise in breach of these terms, and may close the accounts involved.

6. Conduct and account suspension

You must not misrepresent your identity or credentials, take payments off-platform to avoid commission, harass or abuse other users, post false reviews, upload unlawful content, or attempt to access other users' data.

Where Acle verifies misconduct — through disputes, evidence submitted, payment records or reports from other users — Acle may warn, restrict, suspend or permanently close the account. Suspension may be applied immediately where there is risk of harm or fraud. Funds already owed for legitimately completed bookings remain payable, subject to any open dispute on those bookings.

7. Dispute resolution

Once a booking reaches Payment Pending or later, a customer may open a dispute from the booking. The professional may respond, and both parties may add evidence. An Acle administrator reviews the dispute and resolves it by either releasing payment to the professional or issuing a full refund to the customer. Every dispute action is logged.

Administrator decisions are final on the platform. Nothing prevents either party from pursuing remedies available under Nigerian law.

8. Limitation of liability

Because Acle is a facilitator and not the service provider, Acle is not liable for the acts or omissions of professionals or Clients, including poor workmanship, incomplete or delayed work, injury, theft, loss of or damage to property, or any consequential loss arising from a booked service.

The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Acle's total liability to you for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the platform commission and any verification fee Acle received in connection with your account in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Changes and governing law

Acle may update these terms; the version number and last-updated date at the top of this page track changes. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
