Privacy Policy

What personal data Acle collects, why we collect it, how it is protected, and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

1. Who we are and the law we follow

Acle operates a marketplace connecting customers with independent service professionals in Nigeria. When you use Acle we act as a data controller for your personal data.

We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and the guidance of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. That means we collect only what we need, tell you why, keep it secure, and let you exercise your rights over it.

2. What we collect and why

  • Name and profile details — to identify you to the other party in a booking and to display professional profiles in search.
  • Email address and phone number — for account sign-in, confirmations, booking notifications and support. These are never shown to other users; in-app messaging shows only name and photo.
  • Location / service area — to match customers with professionals nearby and to record the service address for a booking.
  • Government-issued ID — collected only from professionals who apply for verification, solely to confirm that the person or business is real.
  • Bank account details — collected only from professionals and affiliate users, solely so that payouts and wallet withdrawals can be paid to the right account.
  • Booking, payment, dispute and message records — to run the service, resolve disputes and meet financial record-keeping obligations.
  • Technical and audit logs — to keep accounts secure and investigate misuse.

Our lawful bases are performance of our contract with you, your consent (for verification documents), our legitimate interest in a safe marketplace, and legal obligations.

3. Government ID documents

Identification images are uploaded to private storage that is not publicly accessible and cannot be listed or read by other users, including other professionals.

Only authorised Acle administrators can open these files, and only for the purpose of reviewing a verification request. Access is logged. We do not publish, share or sell identification documents, and they are never attached to your public profile — the public profile shows only a verification badge.

4. Bank details and payments

Bank account details are used solely for payout processing. Getacle admins send payouts by manual bank transfer from Getacle's Kuda Business account. Getacle never asks for or stores card details.

Bank details are never shared with Clients, professionals or any other user of the platform, and are never used for marketing.

5. Who your data is shared with

  • The other party in a booking — the minimum needed to deliver the service (name, photo, job description and service address).
  • Service providers we rely on — our managed database and authentication host, and our bank (Kuda Business) for receiving payments and sending payouts.
  • Authorities — only where we are legally required to disclose, or to investigate fraud or a threat to safety.

Acle does not sell your personal data to third parties and does not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

6. How long we keep data

  • Account and profile data: for as long as your account is active.
  • Verification ID images: kept only while needed for the review and any related compliance check, then deleted.
  • Booking, payment, payout and dispute records: retained after account closure where required for financial, tax and legal record-keeping.
  • Messages and audit logs: retained for a limited period to support dispute handling and security.

When data is no longer needed for these purposes it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights under the NDPA

  • Request access to a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of your data and closure of your account, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent for verification documents.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

To exercise any of these rights, contact Acle support from your account page. We respond within the timeframe required by the NDPA and may ask you to confirm your identity first.

8. Security and changes to this policy

Access to data is enforced at the database level so that your records are readable and writable only by your own account, with sensitive actions written to an append-only audit log. Passwords are handled by a hardened managed authentication service and are never stored by Acle.

We may update this policy; the version number and last-updated date at the top of this page track changes. See also our Terms of Service.
